Any ideas you have that don't fit into other categories...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  1. Windows Phone 8 and Window 8 App

How about having a Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 "Metro" style app available when Windows 8 comes out in October. iMindMapper would be awesome on the new Windows 8 platform in full screen mode - particularly on the new Nokia tablets!

  2. Get rid of Java

Java is the best tool to build the worst user experience on OS X.
Your development team has done wonderful things on iOS.
I hope this will encourage you to also write true OS X applications for future desktop versions.

  3. branches creation order - clockwise or anticlockwise

iMindMap has a singular way for creating branches, inserting new branches balanced between right and left sides.
I like it but I suggest you improve it, making possible creating branches in clockwise and anticlockwise orders. That's interesting when you are creating mind maps where branches order is important and needs to be followed to make sense (a procedure mind map, for example, where each branch is a step of the procedure).

The user could configure between traditional way, clockwise and anticlockwise orders.

Please consider it for future upgrades.

  5. mouse wheel zoom - zoom steps

Zooming steps should be relativ (to the present zoom size) not absolut.
Now, it zooms up or down by fix absolut 35%.
That is fine at higher zoom levels (above ~150%).
With larger maps, hence at smaller zoom levels, it too much.
From 65% one mouse wheel notch down jumps to 30%! Less than half of before. That is unusable.

    Proposal:
1 mouse wheel notch should be:
    - for up + 33% (relative)
    from 100% to 133%, from 60% to 80%, from 30% to 40%
    - for down - 25% (relativ)
    from 100% to 75%, from 80% to 60%, from…

  6. Request from a Mac user:

Features that I would like to see in Imindmap 5:
    1: Use of apple remote.
More often than not, I am moving around while presenting a new idea or a projekt, and I often find it tiresome to have to walk back to my macbook and press a button to be able to go to the next "branch". Keynote accepts input from the apple remote and it is a standard feature in Xcode.

    2: Pinch to zoom in/out
Mac has multitouch support, and while dealing with large mindmaps, it quite easily gets very tiresome to navigate down and press zoom…

  7. DropBox etc support needed in mobile versions of iMindMap

Although I appreciate that iMindMap Cloud allows me to sync mind maps between my Mac and my iPad, I do not like having to have my mind maps completely segregated from all my other files. I would like to be able to store them in a DropBox folder and then open and edit them via DropBox on my iPad or Android phone.

  8. Quicker mapping / navigation on Mac

Mapping in v5 is slower than v4 for a few reasons for me. (2011 MacBookPro 13")

    1) Arrow keys don't move among the branches (as in the docs), they scroll the screen. This forces use of the mouse. A bug?

    2) Scrolling is *very* slow. When zoomed in to the map it take a long time to scroll to the other side.

    3) In speed mind mapping in v4, simply typing created a new child branch. This is great as it is one of the most common tasks. Now I must first type command-enter which is actually slower.

    Now when…

  9. Be able to "Attach" a file rather than just hyperlink to an existing file.

I'd like to see the ability to "Attach" a file in addition to hyperlinking a file. Is there any current mechanism, other than cut and paste for attaching a file to a branch?

  10. Draw branches from specific parts of the central idea picture.

You should be able to draw branches from specific points of the central idea. For example if I have a picture of the skin I want to be able to draw a branch from the epidermis, from the dermis, etc. In this version and the others it is not possible.

  12. More Variety in backgrounds

It would be nice to have much more variety in regards to backgrounds. I would like to be able to make my own backgrounds as well or be able to set the background with a picture of my own.

  13. Integration with anki

By integrating with anki (a flash card system with an algorithm that reminds you to review you cards before you forget them. This is very handy if you have a couple of thousand flash cards.) If you could make you map and maybe at the end of a branch chain you could have a question option. By making a question this would then save it into a dec (You could build multiple decks for different subjects). When you finish making your map and want to review your work and previous work you then go to a review option. This would…

  14. Export iMindMaps to ical / Google

I use Thunderbird for my contacts and google-calendar - it would be great to have export facility in ical-format to make my tasks and milestones usable in my google-calendar

  15. Allow Flow charts to bre integrated into the mind map

I have been trying to integrated the flow chart with the mind map. I am able to create the flow chart independently in the same mind map canvas, however I am not able to integrate it in the mind map meaning that I cannot start a flowchart at the node on the mind map. Also I cannot use the wonderful icons from the mind map liberary in the flow diagrams. This integration will greatly enhance the mindmappers ability to get an entire project and its components and details and also distinguish iMindMap from other such applicationws.

  16. Find doesn't seem to work when you attach a note to a branch.

Find doesn't seem to work when you attach a note to a branch. If you store lots of information in notes attached to each branch (which is very useful) you have to remember where you put it because the "Find" feature can't locate it.

  18. Keyboard shortcuts are a mess

Firstly, couldn't we have the option of having keyboard hotkeys showing in the tool tips?

It should be possible to minimise the use of the mouse as much as possible by having the keyboard carry out all basic functions in as an intuitive and seamless a way as possible. For example, from a branch Ctrl+T gives you access to the notes pane but you still have to click into the pane to begin typing. Then once you've finished typing you'd at least want the option of going back to the same branch via the keyboard. Pressing Ctrl+T again or Esc…
